Shingle Roofing

SHINGLE ROOFING IN ANCHORAGE

Asphalt shingles are the most popular type of residential roofing material. The shingles that we install today are not your grandpa’s shingles.

We will provide you with options for the shingle products that are best suited for your wind location and budget. We only use the best quality underlayment materials, shingles, and roof accessories that have a proven performance record in Alaska. The owners' forty years of roofing experience in Alaska is reflected in the careful selection of products for every job.

OUR SHINGLE INSTALLERS ARE NOT PAID PIECEWORK.

Most roofing companies in Anchorage pay their shingle installers per square of roofing materials installed (1 square = 100 square feet). Why? This method of payment works to the company's advantage since they have a fixed labor cost based solely on the number of squares, and their profit margin is protected regardless of installation challenges. Why doesn't Premier Roofing do this? When shingle installers are paid by the square there is an incentive for them to quickly install as many squares as possible, and quantity over quality becomes the focus for the installer. What happens when an installer's main focus is speed? Quality suffers; there are high nails, nails that are over-driven, nails that are not properly placed in the manufacturer's fastening strip, misaligned shingles, and improperly installed flashings. The potential for shortcuts to happen increases when the installer is paid by the square to install the critical roofing underlayment. Oftentimes, there are roof areas that require in-the-field problem solving, and more diligence to do the job right; that simply will not happen if speed is the installer's motivation.

We believe that when you have well paid, happy employees, and the focus is solely on quality, our customer gets the highest quality roof system every time.

WE WORK YEAR-ROUND IN ANCHORAGE.

Shingle roof installations are performed year round. Premier Roofing will choose the appropriate roofing materials for a quality winter installation, such as a polymer modified asphalt shingle product. Cold weather can pose obstacles during installation; polymer modified asphalt technology ensures that shingles remain flexible down to 0˚F (-18˚C), which is 40 degrees lower than the typical installation of standard asphalt shingles. This allows for the best quality application during fall and winter installations. This flexible asphalt also makes the shingles more resistant to wind damage, as well as providing superior granule retention.

PREMIER ROOFING IS A CERTIFIED SHINGLE INSTALLER.

Premier Roofing is a certified installer for the best asphalt shingle manufacturer for Alaska weather. We install the Malarkey family of products based on the quality of the polymer modified shingles that they manufacture. ALL SHINGLES ARE NOT THE SAME. We carefully choose the products that we install based solely on performance. The Malarkey shingles are not cheapest for a reason.

WE DWELL IN THE WIND AND WE KNOW WHAT PERFORMS.

We have resided on the Upper Hillside for thirty-two years; we know firsthand the power of wind and the damage that it can cause to a roof system. We also know what performs very well in the windiest conditions. We are really good at this.
